PyCon Africa 2026 is the continent's premier annual gathering of the Python community, bringing together developers, researchers, students, industry professionals, and open-source contributors from across Africa and beyond.
In October 2026, Uganda will proudly host PyCon Africa in collaboration with regional Python communities from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan, reinforcing the spirit of Pan-African collaboration, knowledge sharing, and open-source growth.
PyCon Africa is a non-profit, volunteer-run conference, dedicated to growing Python adoption, fostering diversity, and strengthening Africa's role in the global Python ecosystem.
Program Overview
The PyCon Africa 2026 program will include:
- Keynote talks and technical sessions from African and global Python leaders
- Hands-on tutorials and workshops for beginners to advanced practitioners
- Community-led panels and discussions on Python's role in industry, research, and social impact
- Hackathons, sprints, and collaborative projects focused on African challenges
